I agree with you, but EVERY GM product that has been in my family has been a piece of donkey dung-every fleet vehicle I have ever managed has been the same fine quality. GM has major issues, every once in a while they kick out something good ( the vette) but the rest of the line
The only thing I feel bad about is the report that says GM lost 1.1 BILLION in the first quarter of this year.
That can mean only one thing... layoffs for the working man.
Having that large scale recall can't help the bottom line either.

Who me? I don't really care about GM or Ferd or Dodge for that matter. I only care about engines. Cummins, Detroits, and Cats is what we've driven for many decades. The badges on the vehicles don't mean a thing to me either. The H2 is a real joke, IMHO - it's an Avalanche by another name. The last GM vehicle I drove was a step van in 1975 and like it's predecessors ended up in the junk heap long before it's time.
if you saw auto line detroit sunday morning, they talked about gm's 1.1 billion dollar loss in the first 1/4 and most of it was due to rising health care costs and pensions, the main problem they talked about was mortality, people are living longer then they expected, also made mention of the thousands of pickups and suv's setting on dealer lots that nobody wants now because of the high gas prices.and you look they make up over 50-60 percent of the vehicles on their lots.
So GM is probably going to say to it's workers unless you want us to go out of business you have to give up your health care. Then the taxpayers will foot the bill when GM employees who can't afford heath care need it.
Just like the Walmart model where in several states the majority of people on the public welfare rolls work at Walmart.
In the meantime all the CEOs who figured out to cut benefits will get million dollar raises while never figuring out the real problem is their chitty vehicles.
