Another Step Forward for Diesels

I found this nice car on the Supercars.net homepage. It's been hinted at and suggested before, but here's the real one: http://www.supercars.net/cars/3335.html

Audi ventures into previously unexplored diesel-engine terrain with power exceeding 650 hp (485 kw) and torque of more than 811 ft lbs (1100 nm)
Apparently they haven't seen Scheid pull

I think it's about time diesels were reintroduced into the mainstream racing world, and I hope this one has a good showing.

When I was talking to the ole boy at Schieds aways back he was tellin me that Banks built a car to NASCAR specs. They banned it from racing. I don't claim any more knowledge than that. But I can see it, would seriously cut down on the need for pit stops, other than tires. Don't know if you could make that engine light enough to be easy on front tires.

Hey ,I live in Sebring, and since that's all we have here is a track, maybe I'll drive over there and watch it run in March.
