Could be more oldsters aren't answering because they're smart, snowbirding down south where it's warm right now and away from the computer.

The bottom 15 years equals 50%. The other 15% is over a 60 year span. Just interesting to me.

The poll is quite interesting Randy, like you say almost 50% are under 31 yrs old.

Are young people starting families later now than when I and most of my peers started ours? If so, that might account for the disposable income necessary to "BOMB"

I know we are. Several of our friends have kids, but we've only been married 4 years and arn't ready to share yet. When the time comes I think it will actually be close to my parents age when they had me. Another thing I see in some of my younger mechanics is the dreaded credit card fund for mods (to jeeps and other vehicles, noCTD ). Have now pay later idea. I guess they'll have to learn from their own mistakes instead of others.

Well I am 24 and I am ready for a family, but a house and wife comes first I guess. Working on one of those, no need in buying a house before getting married cause no matter what you got, the woman is most likely gonna want something else, and she should have a say so in where and what she lives in.

I spent my early 20's modifying a jeep. This is my first diesel. I drive 30k+ yearly and was looking for something to outlast the loan. THis website, however, has rekindled something I missed very much. How else could you explain me taking a sawzall to a truck with less than 2,000 miles on it!

49 going on 14!

Dude, theres laws to protect you from this kind of thing!
(Just kidding) Good for you, I don't know anyone died from hard work. My son is 11 this year. He will be chomping at the bit by the time he is 14 to get out and make some $.
All it takes is some focus. Look at your friends who mooch off of Mom and Dad for everything, you will be in a much better spot when you are in your 20's than they will be. I owned my first house at 19 (well, the bank owned it, but the let me live there). Now, 10 years later I am moving into my third home and am only borrowing about 50% of the purchase price.

Keep it up, not too many of the guys on here aren't out there humping it daily to afford these expensive hobbies!
