i found a 98 12v diesel at a place called autoedge last night. 153,XXX miles, has a turned up pump and big exhaust, 5 spd manual and its a RCLB. it also need a new idler arm...but thats a whole nother story(test drive last night=WHOA!) theyre asking price is 14,980. Is that high/low for this truck, it is green and seems to be in FAIRLY decent condition

I'm looking at the same truck out here in CA. It has 104k miles and has a clean carfax - only 1 owner. Dealers asking $15,200. That's about $1k over Kelly wholesale. Seems to run good. Truck is bone stock. I'm going to try and pick it up tomarrow. This truck is almost impossiable to find around my area and in this condition. The auto tranny even seems strong. I hope this helps!

This is just my opinion, but after a fair amount of experance with purchasing vechiles of all types for many members of my family, I tend to stay far away from modified vechiles. Truth be told--it the pump has been turned up, if it's running a 5" exhaust, you know as well as I do what that means. Yes, indeed its been run hard. Longevity is a key feature of a Cummins, why waste time and money on something modified to depreciate the best feature? If you yourself modify it once you buy it, that's another story, you know how you will treat it. But any modifications such as these should lower the resale value, not raise it. I would not offer close the $14 k for a truck such as that. Good luck!

I bought my truck with 208k miles on it... it had a #6 plate slid full forward, 370 injectors, 16.5* timing, 4k GSK, SBC Con OFE clutch, KDP fixed, gauges, and stacks... I bought it from an 18yr old kid! LOL!

I've beat the heck out of it for 11 months, and it now has 236k on it. runs like stink and makes 70psi of oil pressure running down the road... not worried in the least
