I once pushed it to 1500 miles before I filled up.... OH, you're talkin' the pickup. Never mind.
My worst was last weekend where I got 260 miles before I had to fill.

I routinely get about 2000 miles per fill up. But then again, I carry about 105 gal.
Been averaging about 20 MPG. I start looking for fuel at about 1850-1900 miles.

I ran my truck out of fuel a couple months ago. I went 560 miles, but that was all in town! mileage had to be pretty good, since my shortbed tank is 35 gallons. I can tell you that 35 gallons is exactly right. After I put in the 5 gal can I had with me to limp to a station. It took 30.9 gallons to fill, or 34.9 gallons. There is NO reserve built into my tank!
Why did I run out? BECAUSE THE GAUGE ISN'T WORKING!
Heck, I can go 350miles and it's still on Full!
The 5gal bug in the bed was a lifesaver, but getting it restarted was a pain. Good thing I had a cheapo crescent wrench with me that would open up to 19mm.
I always use the trip odometer and reset it with every fill-up. When I hit 300 miles, I refill. This keeps the fuel level higher, and (imo) fuel temps lower.
I'm sure not sure how I'm going to fix my gas gauge issue when I get back to WY.
Nor do I understand why it failed. I haven't been doping my fuel up with used oil or anything-- just fuel additive in recommended dosages.
I suspect I'm going to have to go with a new tank module and take it up the tailpipe on that one.

I went 450 miles on 25 gallons, did some light towing that week(3000lbs) on the interstate. The idiot light came on and I got to thinking about hot fuel, etc, etc and since I don't go below 1/4 tank. Usually just pump her full when I drop below 1/2 tank, seems a lot easier, mentally when you can fill it up to the top of the neck with $50-60, instead of $70+

Longest 5 I've done is 753.0, 747.1, 732.8, 712.2 and 698 miles. Took ~32.5 gallons on the fillups except for the 732.8 which was 34.06 gallons. I fill up until the pump clicks and add 2 gallons. Usually average 30-31 gallons total and anywhere from 580 to 650 miles.

I guarantee 1 thing. Stock size tank+towing/working the truck=never see those kinda numbers.
And Im not talking about 2-3,000 lbs either . Congrats to all though!!
One thing about the Flying Hook. The local one here, I cant get mileage to save my life on thier diesel, however a couple months ago I filled up in Knoxville TN at one, and had 420 miles with 3/8 tank left, and that was towing a car up through VA on i-81.
I didnt think it was too shabby

What's worse than the 13 MPG is the 1/32 ItPM. That'll put a strain on the pocketbook!
New Question: Who has managed to get the WORST fuel economy?

I stretched my tank(fuel tank ) to 660 miles at nightfall on a round trip to Pensacola. I chickened out and filled up at nightfall but still had quite a bit remaining. Had it been earlier and just myself, I really considered trying stretching it all the way to PNS. I had two 5gal fuel jugs just-in-case...
But it made 22.58mpg at 72 mph.. It just keeps going, and going and going...
But just like a nuclear sub, gotta stop for food sometime...

I did 637 one time but it wasn't by choice. Diesel fuel can be hard to find in the mountains some times.
Now, I very rarely go below 1/4 before I'm looking for a hose.

I usually get about 200 miles before needing to fill up, but a few factors play into it, I have 40s so im actually going about 250 miles. and usually I drive about a mile to work and back. which figures out to about 8 mpg. I thought something was wrong but last week I had some 32s on and towed a 6-7k trailer and averaged about 17.5 mpg. then without the trailer got about 18.5 and 100 or so miles of that was drag racing haha. I also ran out of fuel once and dumped a gallon of #2 in to get to the station, and didn't have a problem getting it started up, I figured I would be there for half a day.
