6BT swap?
Does anyone know of anyplace (websites, shops, whatever) to get swap parts for a Cummins going into a '90 fullsize, 1 ton GMC/Chevy? I have the engine and trans, 6BT/Allison auto., but if I can't find anything to do it I guess it's not worth it. I just really need engine and transmission mounts, the rest is no problem. Thank you if anyone can help.

I checked them out and the only thing they were showing was a swap into a K-5. I tried checking ChevyCummins.com and it said the site was under construction. Thanks for the help though.

theres a guy on ColoradoK5.com that manufactures swap parts for cummins to chevy swaps like motor mounts and dropped engine crossmembers bolt in stuff.
I plan to get some swap parts from him to convert my new to me '97 crewcab dually.
i've chattedf with him a couple times seems like a straight shooter.
I can find his email if you want.

You can buy as set from a guy on 4btswaps.com named scott. He goes by CrewCab59. He also sells a front crossmember or you can modify your own. It will have to be dropped about 4 inches in the middle to get good clearance. The tranny mounts will prolly be on you. If you have a welder and some patients it is not too bad. I built all of my mounts in about a half day from scratch. I use cardboard to make templates and get them perfectly fit first.
The way I did it was starting with the engine crossmember modification. Next you have to get the engine and transmission mocked up using jacks or wood blocks. I just used wood blocks under the pan and on the sides to wedge it. Before setting the engine in I bolted 1/4" plate to the engine so I had something to weld to. Then I made carboard templates to fit in the factory GM isolators. Last I cut them from steel and bolted them to the frame and welded it to the engine plates. I picked up the engine and removed the mounts for final welding and gussets.
I can send you picks if you want, or post them here.

I am interested in the details of a 4BT or similar swap. I don't need much more power than the stock 6.5 offers. I want something more dependable and easier to work on. I also want to get away from the L480E's

4 speed?
Part number or what it is called.
I've always been a GM guy and don't know much about other manufacturers engines, Trans etc.
