I believe it's the injector for the regen knocking......

Sounds like it's running on 4 cylinders.

I've never seen diesel do that, btw. It's surprising to me that it will, since it's nowhere near as flammable as gasoline.

Actually diesel is more flamable than gasoline. Diesels don't need spark plug to fire the fuel. Gasoline gives off vapors that burn and that's what ignites. Diesel does not give off flamable vapors.

Doesn't really matter, just thought I'd pass along a little information.
