5500 Diffs

5500 Diffs

Dose anyone know what front and rear diffs that the 5500's are running?

Sometime back I asked what size the ring gear was in the 4500. The reply I got was a .pdf file indicating the rear end was made by Spicer (Dana) "Road Ranger"

There were two or three differant ones. One for the 4500 and the others for the 5500 I guess.

I have no info on what they would run up front on the 4500. You could believe they might run the big one on the 5500 and 4500's rear in the front of the 5500, but I really don't know.

front diff is called a Dana Super60. in both 4500 ad 5500. rear in a 4500 is a Dana110, rear in a 5500 is Dana 130.

Luke, Dave, Thanks, I have been tring to find out even from the dealerships, Later this year I'm going to rebuild my 04 3500 4x4 ,engine,trans,front and rear, and am going to possiably upgrade to these diffs. I can't justify 65K for a new truck. Even if I have to buy everthing new, it still won't be that much.
