That's good news. We need more diesel car options.

Interesting what Mazda did to aid in cold engine combustion since their engine has almost the same compression as a gasser.

That is cool about the Cruze - I was considering one of those as a DD anyway, but diesel makes it even better.

I was all excited about the Cruze, till I tried to get into my buddies 2012. Unless you are fairly small, it is NOT an easy car to get into and out of. The physical size of the car is fine, but they made the center post a large radius at the bottom, probably to help with crash, and it makes it harder than heck to get into with the seat back. So if you have to run the seat all the way back, it probably isn't going to impress you.

From the looks of the body structure of the 6 though, it doesn't appear as if they made the same mistake.

Also the Colorado is supposed to get the same Diesel in 2014, so unless they ruin that truck, it might be a good alternative.

Hopefully, they'll see the demand for a wagon. My friend's a VW dealer and he's got waiting lists for the wagons. The sedans only stick around a couple of days.

If I were to get one, I'm going with the Mazda. 1) they aren't sticking that high dollar pos particulate filter on it and 2) GM has a crap track record with diesel vehicles.......Up to the Duramax anyway.

I tried every size car the Chevy dealer had when I had them program a fresh radio into the 07 1/2 ton I had. The only one I could easily get into and out of was the 2-door version of the one that replaced the Cavalier, I can't remember what it was called.

Really now - That is truly interesting and exciting to me. My first truck was an S-15, and I have always liked them. A diesel option in the SS version or in the 4wd offroad package could be downright awesome. I hope Dodge doesn't screw around and miss the opportunity here.

They'd have to play Frankenstein on the Dakota first....
