2007 Ford SD spy shots. Behind a tow truck !

http://www.u-ka.cn/en/00/80369.html

Look at picture #1. Hood bra is peeled back, the front end is elevated and you see the tow truck wrecker boom in front of it.

Quality is Job #1 at Ford. Lets hope they get that done before they release the truck to the public.

Here is something really funny. When the 6L debuted, they called it the Proven Diesel.

The text that goes with that picture states:
Our latest spy shots show the 2007 Ford Everest and 2007 Ford Super Duty pickups undergoing testing at Ford's proving grounds in Michigan.

So you see, it's not that the Ford is broken.
They're testing the front bumper and tow hooks to make sure they'll withstand the strain of being repeatedly towed back to the shop for repairs.

If you look closely, the one on the hook is different than the other one. Antenna is changed. Mirrors, etc.

I guess the one on the hook is the new model and the other one is just a test mule using the old body.

Maybe they were testing a new line of tow trucks? They could sell tons of them if they came with a "Ford Quick Connect System"

Ford is instally velcro to the front of all its trucks and rear of all the tow trucks for quicker pick-up and releases.

with the reliability of the 6.0 I'm surprised that Ferd didn't engineer a tilt hood for easier engine removal for those "few that might leak oil".

A long time ago my brother got a letter to drive a test truck from Ford as he had a Ford Diesel and at the time they were the BEST thing out. Remember the chev olds diesel and the 6.2 or what ever it was. Anyway the Ford was a inline 6 with a weight in the truck bed. Roy, told me that it ran out fine. HE got payed to do the drive. I allways wondered what happened to the inline six truck as it never made it to the production.
If Ford gets there engine working I will buy one as I dont have any problem with the Truck except the engine. Or if someone will sell there Ford that has a cummins later on this summer. LOL JimK

When I worked for Ford we had a new 6.0l doing it's initial testing die at our shop. Ford would not let us touch it. Navistar sent a guy to check it out but Ford yanked it out of there before he could get there. Was pulling a big flatbed trailer with a bin on it filled with rocks and a front built on the trailer for wind resistance. They told the driver to drive it until it died and he did. Jim

Also, look closely at the one picture with the trailer-tow mirrors..........its the same mirror that is now on the 2006 Chevy.

So Ford is now copying Chevy with the same mirror design. Too bad they wont copy Dodge with the engine.
