2005 Jeep Liberty Limited 4x4 CRD

Just got this new ride for my wife last Thursday...now she's an oil burner, too ! It's been a great SUV so far...only around 300 miles to date. Her 2002 Jeep Liberty Sport 4x4 was a GAS HAWG. Had a CRD on order since March 12, but a week later found out that the plant was built-out for April; around mid-April, I found out the plant was built-out for May. Between the going away of the 7/70 powertrain, a 2006 price increase, and the loss of a $500 owner loyalty rebate by May 2, I opted to get get my dealer to dealer trade one for me. I originally was going to Bloomington, IN but at the last minute, one was shipped into Flemingsburg, KY that had all options I'd originally ordered but two...Sirius Satellite Radio and TPMS. The Sirius was dealer-installed, so all in all, my wife & I are quite happy.

2005 Jeep Liberty Limited 4x4 CRD, Bright Silver Metallic, Dk/Lt Slate Gray Leather w/bun warmers, 5 spd auto, 22G pkg, Trailer Tow, 3.73 Rear Axle w/Trac-Lok Differential, Power Sunroof, Selec-Trac 4WD, Infinity 6-Disc In-Dash w/Sirius Satellite Radio.

Looks like a nice ride, I'd be curious to see what kind of fuel mileage you get after it's broke in.

Does look good! Congratulations.
There is supposed to be one coming in to my dealer soon and I am interested in the mileage. Could you update us on the how far per tank and how big is the tank.

No kiddin, gotta get rid of that engine cover so you can admire that sucker. Nice ride by the way. You must be the talk of Sand Gap with that ride.

They are nice. I had a chance to take a look at one while visiting my folks in Shelbyville, Ky. Dealer said owners were reporting 28-30 mpg HWY. The wife and I are already talking about trading in the 03 Durango for a new Liberty CRD.

The fuel tank capacity is 20.5 US gallons per the owner's manual. The CRD just now has around 430 miles on the odo; it has 362 miles on the trip odo that I reset every fillup. As of right now, I have about 2 needlewidths past the 1/4 mark on the positive side, at 362 miles. My wife's '02 Liberty Sport 4x4 3.7L gas would barely make it to 270--280 miles BEFORE the low fuel light would kick on; push it to 300 miles or so, and you'd be on the edge of walking soooon. If it's this great now, imagine how well it will do when broken in. By the way, it comes with 0W40 Mobil 1 Full Synthetic as factory fill and has 6.4 quart capacity, excluding filter.

My wife has been driving the first one we got in for about a week now. It is getting around 26-28 and she has a real heavy foot. I think I could make it break 30mpg. I don't see the need for a power upgrade, this thing makes a gas Liberty seem like a dog to me. I have 3 more ordered and I am going to go out and try to buy some from some other dealer as well.
