BBD with the new system they are making it manditory to lie on the logs, no question about it. I generally unload in the morning a couple times a week and then go to the auction in the afternoon. That will be illegal starting January 1. I either go out of business or lie on logs. What a bunch of smart leaders we have. The new system will be ok for the long haul over the road with a seven day operation but the end of the line for short haul stuff that has to log.

 

I was looking at the new regs today. Even longhaul will be tough.

Pull in to unload pipe @ 0700. Unloading until 0930. 1 hou to next reload .5 to load, .5 to tie. Now its 1130. Grab lunch at Subway and eat it on the road because you WILL be parked by 2100 for 10 hours!!! End of story. So you will have to run double to go anywhere.

This is going to be brutal. Isn't it just ironic that the gov't. makes honest people into liars and cheats, just so they can eat and support that gov't through taxes.

Maybe the pinhead driving the desk should ask himself, how he's going to survive if they cut his working day by 20% with the same cut in pay?

My truck is governed @ 65 on the cruise and 68 on the pedal, so in the dakotas where the limit is 75, I've got no problems, but in the 55 truck states, its gonna be real tough.

My 93 has 380000km still uses no oil between changes and runs like a top. ;D ;D ;D ;D

Illinois and Indiana are getting rid of the split limit.

Driving legal, a trucker could get pretty close to 200,000 miles a year if they stay out west where the speed limits are higher.

Fudge the logs just a little and 200,000 miles a year would be no probem.

Truckers have a tough life being on the road 6 days a week and working 10 to 12 hours a day to make a pretty poor living. It ain't poverty, but it would be hard to support a family.
