If you get it, you need to change the tailgate name from DODGE RAM to read DODGE LAMB. It ain't growed up yet.

Re:1983 Dodge Ram 50 Pickup Short Bed

I had that same diesel in a '87 Ferd Ranger pickup. Not a real tire burner but we beat the crap outa that truck. Was in auto repair, salvage, boat haulage u name it. Pulled cars to the shop, boats outa the water, scrap to the dealer, big traliers, small trailers, u name it. Oil filters were very expensive back then for it, so we kinda neglected it in that dept. Road service so it idled non stop for hours.(had a compressor under the hood) Many drivers. Traded it with I think 190k on it beat to hell, body all smashed hardly an oil change or any thing else under the hood. I liked the sound of the turbo whistle so on shutdown I would goose it and turn off the key. Did this almost every time since new. Never had a problem with it. Smoked a couple clutches. Busted the shifter on many occasions. One of the best little diesels I ever drove. We traded it for a '89 Ranger could not get the diesel got a gas engine was a POS. My boss wanted that diesel back. Was a company truck, and he was cheap so it ran on coloured diesel its whole life. Hope this helps<br>
