1970 K20 cummins conversion

As in my sig. I am finally getting to work on my diesel conversion of my 1970 chevy formerly 2wd 3/4 ton. This truck has lots of other donor trucks involved. The question I have is regarding boxing the frame for strength. I don't believe in these years there was a significant difference in the structure of the 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton frames, which would lead me to believe that boxing the frame and adding more cross-member supports would be necessary to withstand the mighty cummins, long term. So that said, how do you think I should attatch the crossmembers, I.E. the transmission and transfer case mebers, to the frame once boxed in? I was thinking of welding some ears on the inside of the frame rails, maybe out of angle and then just bolting the crossmembers to the now external mounting angles. Any other thoughts? Also, I am thinking I will do this in two basic phases and and phase 1 I will simply install the existing running motor and make it go, no performance mods yet. Do you think the HD chevy 11" clutch from a 350 will take the stock torque of the cummins, without slipping, if driven conservatively. I plan on coming back with a HD 13" cummins clutch, but would like to install my stock SM465 with the cheap clutch I already have . Thanks guys...any other thoughts.
