1500 Diesel
Well, I started the search for my dream truck and settled on a EcoDiesel Outdoorsman 4x4. Then I got the specs, buckets only, no 60/40/60 and must get the 8.4 media system. Really??!! I want the 60/40/60 and the 5.0 Uconnect. Back to the drawing board! LOL
They had a forum on here back when the V8 CTD 1500 was announced in 2008, but then bankruptcy happened & Chryco pulled the plug on it, so did DTR.
Made sense then because it was a Cummins, now maybe it's a little more cloudy- Dodge Diesel Pickup, yes. Cummins no. They're going to need a forum somewhere though.....

Guess I'll keep my truck for a few more years. LOL
Been looking at getting a new rig for the wife and looking between the ecodiesel Jeep Grand Cherokee and the 1500. Went to look at them both the other day but the dealer sold all seven 1500's before we got there. I only got to drive the Jeep but was very impressed by it! Unfortunately they are currently only offering the diesel option in the top couple Jeep trim packages with a minimum price including discounts of $45,000. As soon as I can buy one in cloth and no extravagant bells and whistles that I don't want I will be all over buying one.
I think Chrysler/Fiat is really going to mess over the new 1500 if they don't offer it with more options.
A shame they didn't go with the Cummins ..... Oh well, I spent my down payment for a 1500 with a Cummins on a Can-Am Commander 800XT instead!

I didn't order. Just spec'ing out the truck that I would want to order. I did find an Outdoorsman Hemi with the 60/40/60 and the 5.0 Uconnect but can't get a Ecodiesel in the same configuration??!! Also had the 17's and monochrome/chrome bumpers
Does anyone own one and have taken it in for service at 10k? Some poor lady on another site, got hit for 12 quarts of oil, oil filter, DEF, fuel filters for almost $500!!!

Yep, Only two tone and buckets are available for order. Guess chrome bumpers and 40/20/40 seats are on allocation. LOL
From my understanding it takes 10.5 quarts of 5w-30 Euro spec synthetic oil and a very expensive cartridge oil filter. DIY for the oil and filter is well over $100. Oil filter is around $49 and the fuel filter is $30 at Geno's.

I think I will be owning one of these very soon. Not sure what you mean by monochrome/ chrome bumpers, but I drove a silver one with chrome bumbers and 20's. I would go with 17's but I don't think those are an option on much other then the bottom tier trim packages and when this diesel was announced it was stated that it would only be offered in the upper level trim. Plus they have pretty much eliminated the small screens from the audio selection and why would you want the little one? Makes no sense to me I guess. As for the service side of it, $500 is crazy, but the owner should have known better then to let them do that. I would suspect these engines should be in the range of 7k between changes since my little Toyota Highlander will go almost 5 with half the oil and my wifes Traverse goes 6k pretty regularly. Also the prices will come down as more of these trucks get out there and the demand goes up for the filters. Could you give a link to that post by chance?

I drove by a Power Wagon with a "Ecodiesel" badge on the side of it... Is that a factory option??? It had some custom pinstriping/chrome/painted axles/etc so I wasn't sure if it was. Sure was quiet.
Funny, real funny about "pick up". ;>) Wanted a smilie cartoon here but it won't work.
Love my ECO Diesel, GREAT MPG, Power, super quiet and smooth. Waited 20 years for Dodge 1/2 ton diesel that didn't have an over the road big rig diesel under the hood that weighs more then an old VW and it finally showed up.

I had heard that about farm tractor several times over the years, but didn't think it was true. But be it farm or over the road tractor really means nothing to someone like me who likes a diesel for economy and a truck for weekend projects or hunting not pulling a 40' horse trailer or 5th wheeling a camper bigger then most houses.
