12-Valve Cummins in Small Bulldozer?

Does anybody know what dozer came with a 5.9 12-valve Cummins?

I was stationed in Okinawa and our shop was working on a Dozer that I was told was the exact same engine placed in the dodge trucks back then. (1992 or earlier) It looked the same with the six individual valve covers. It wasn’t a very large dozer and yet it wasn’t very small either. I can’t seem to find any information on line regarding military Cummins powered bulldozers. I looked like a D3 or similar. USMC Engineers 3d Fssg.

Case dozers , as well as Komatsu used the 5.9 , i would also look into new holland heavy equipment , as well as kobelco ( although i do not know if kobelco makes dozers).

I can't tell you what models of komatsu had the cummins in them , but we had a 5.9 at the school where i did my block release , and it stated that it was built for komatsu on the data tag. It had the industrial head on it ( fuel filter heads are built into the cylinder head) and a VE style pump.

We have a kobelco Excavator at work right now , with a 5.9 cummins in it.

I had a freind who installed a straight six 300 in a small dozer a few years back. It was one of those machines that would kill you if you were not carefull. It would pull the front tracks in the air when let out the clutch.

I have more to add to the list , Dresser used the 5.9, and i found an old fiat loader at work today , with a, you guessed it , a 6BT cummins in it. There is also an old forklift there with a 4B in it, but i forget the brand now.

And they probable use the cummins instead of a Navistar or Izuzu V8 because the cummins is reliable?

dresser is now a komatsu. komatsu uses 3 versions of the 5.9 the older machines run a mechanical one the tier 1 used in the early motel's. an electronic engine witch is the tier 2 engine. and a hpcr witch is the tier 3 engine. they use them in all machines from loaders, dozers and excavators
