Angry 08' DHRA Indy hotel resv. canceled???

Hey guys, i got a letter on friday from the Days Inn in plainfield IN saying that my reservations request would be put on a waiting list for possible cancelation. I have had resv. since we checked out of the room on sunday last year. They had the preregistraion form i filled out with credit card info and i was like number 6 on the list for this year. I was wondering if anybody else has recieved one of these letters. This was going to be my fourt year in a row at that hotel. As you can imagine, I'm mad as ****.

I will type what the letter says. We are writing concerning your DHRA sign-up reservation request. Unfortunatly, due to numerous request we are unable to meet your request for rooms during this event. The reservation request will be put on a waiting list for any rooms that may become available up until the event. We will notify you of any cancellations as soon as we recieve them. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to call anytime.

Wonder if they goofed up and sold all of their rooms to online booking agencies? Have had that happen before where you call a hotel and they are booked, but you use an online system (I forget the names of the companys) and they have available rooms. Might want to check that way.

I actually thought the same thing at first, but a buddy of mine tried to book his room through a couple of thos sites and could not get one. There are rooms at other hotels for cheaper money and closer, but that is not where the partys at. I just wonderd if they will try and make a change this year for the afterhours shows. I'm going to give them a call tomarrow and see what they have to say(tried today but manager was not in on weekends). It would be different if i hadn't givin them a credit card info and everthing. The lady said that whoever preregisterd, got first dibs so i just really dont understand.

Contact everyone that makes it "where the partys at" and have them all book at the cheaper closer hotel. Nothing speaks to a company more than lost business.

I Called And Talked To The Hotel And They Said That I Was Number 26 On The List And That They Only Made It To 13 Before They Ran Out Of Rooms. I Said I Was 6 On The List Because Remeber Thinking That I Wouldn't Have To Worry About My Res. For Next Year, But They Said That There Was Another Sheet Of 20 Names. I Said I Checked Out Early Sunday Morning But The Told Me That People Were Signing Up Starting On Friday. I Asked Why I Was Not Told About This When I Checked In On Friday And All They Could Say Was Sorry The Lady Must Have Forgot To Tell Me. So I Guess Im Sol!!!!

Sounds like they are telling the truth or VERY good liars. Too bad , that sucks. Make sure you get the reservations for next year now and make the best of it this year. Good luck.

I Called Comfort Inn And Booked A Room. It Is 95 A Night Because It Is A King Suit. Its Not Ideal But It Was The Last Room Available. I Am Staying On The Waiting List Just In Case Of Any Cancelations.

Maybe they saw that you were from Champaign and thought that you might have been one of the "fans" at Assembly Hall who acted so childish about Eric Gordon. (I almost thought that game was being played in Ann Arbor!)

Indianrefining, actually if it does not have a motor in it or hot chicks dancing around, i dont watch it. With that said though, i do believe when Illinois played at Indiana, they sarted it first with the we got gordon chants and other taunts. If i didn;t work with a bunch of basketball fanatics, i wouldn't even know who "Gordon" was.

RAM - After the latest news about Kelvin Sampson, consider my lips sealed. How embarrasing to be a Hoosier fan!
