Question ULSD Strange Personal Side Effect

Had a somewhat peculiar side effect today while changing the fuel filter on a D350 I just bought. I noticed a tingling effect on the front part of my tongue and some desensitivity after I accidentally tipped the filter and spilled a small amount on my hands. Yea I know I should of had on some chemical resistant gloves but that's not the point. The question is are they adding something similar to a pesticide or some biocide agent now that was not being used previously? I have had exposure many times to #2 fuel but never had any side effects before. Anyone else had similar symptoms after a brief exposure?

Note to self---do not drink new diesel fuel .

I just changed my filter last week, and didn't have any problems like you mentioned. I got my hands covered in fuel while I was doing it. Did you accidentally, or unknowingly, lick your fingers before cleaning them???

Did the wife ask in the past couple of weeks if the life insurance policy was paid up?

Nope, didn't touch my eyes or face, non-smoker for over 30 years. No open wounds or scratches either. I didn't experience any metallic taste but the strange feeling migrated slightly into my teeth after about 3 hours. Hey guys, I'm not making this up by any means.

I've had this feeling before.... can't quite remember what it was from. Drink lots of water, that'll help.

I've had that feeling right after paying for a fill-up!!

You may have to go to a medical forum to get any good ideas, 'cause the fuel and the filter and the labor involved in changing it probably had nothing to do with the sensations.

Those symptoms sound like a scorpion or spider bite... I am around fuel and oil all the time... usually with glove unless I can't avoid it... I have never had those sym. from petrolium.
BTW... I really hate changing fuel filters on those old things... difficult to change and difficult to restart the truch when you finish.

You should probably see a doc, dude. Symtoms like this sound more like a prevailing problem, e.g. stroke, heart attack, etc. I have been in direct skin contact with hydraulic fluid, aircraft engine oil, numerous viscosities of regular engine oil, gasoline, diesel, liquid oxygen, liquid nitrogen, JP-8 and Jet A-1 and never felt anything like that.

Sounds like a classic case of post-midlife crisis spousal-induced arsenic poisoning to me!

Methonol makes my eys realy red and puffy and I am not talking when I get it in my eyes. A few DROPS of methonol on the skin can do it. The worst is slightly off spec methonol. It has a strong smell and is not clear, more of a tea like color. Sometimes it only takes a few minutes to feel it.

Then there is a certain gun cleaner that gives me hives and makes me realy itchy. It is also a solvent and the smallest amount can cause me problems. About 6 months ago I put this crap on all my guns and found out shortly it gives me problems. I still get itchy if I am even near my gun safe.

Could be somthing in the new diesel is bothering you. I got a bunch on me the other day and am ok so far. I also noticed it was bright florecent green when I dumped some on the snow, not the normal diesel color.
