low mpg ?

me my brother and his father in-law were hauling hay last week, about 70 miles one way, when we fueled up we all had the same complaint we were not getting the mileage we were use to. For the load I was pulling my mileage should have been way better. Do you think this is low sulfur diesel?

Low sulfur diesel has been out for a while now.. More likely would be the switch to winter diesel, which normally drops MPG by about 1.5-2. Or maybe you guys were all fighting a large head-wind?

Maybe the wind, But most likely the fuel. I haven't hauled anything that heavy in a while but seems like mileage was about 2-3 mpg better.
