Just noticied my regular station still using 500ppm diesel

I only noticed it when a coworker w/ a 2008 Mercedes E320 BlueTec said he couldn't fill up there because he saw the warning sticker said 500ppm. I had never really noticed it until recently and sure enough they are still selling 500ppm low sulfur diesel. No wonder my truck has been running great and MPGs are up! Thankfully I found this info out before we bought my wife's Jetta TDI. She fills up at a Hess station down the road that sells ULSD and displays the appropriate 15ppm sticker.

Anyone else notice any stations in their area still selling low sulfur diesel?

No such luck here in Central Illinois.

Enjoy it because it will be getting harder and harder to find as the 2010 required phase in date approaches.

More than likely the station has been selling you ULSD but just hasn't removed the stickers out of ignorance.
I think the way the law is written is only 90% of the stations have to sell ULSD only until next year.
After that all stations must carry it only for on road.
If you truly are getting 500ppm and I have my dates right enjoy it while you can, you have one more day left.

Date I remember reading was on-road diesel must be 100% ULSD (15 ppm sulfur) by Oct 1,2010.
Has this changed?
Same date that off-road diesel has to move to 500 ppm, if I remember correctly.

I have filled up at a Flying J in Limon, CO with LSD (at least thats what the sticker said) On their website this station is listed as selling both LSD and ULSD. The 500ppm stuff is only available if you use the OTR truck lanes. Thats good for us Dodge guys cause I dont think Ford and GM truck fuel filler opening is big enough to accept the High Flow Pump nozzles. I did a search a while back and went to a bunch of the "Truck Stop" websites to see who still offers LSD, they are few and far between to say the least.

Enjoy it while you can as fewer and fewer places carry it.

Actually the stickers are new from when the station changed from Mobil to BP. So I guess BP may still be distributing it in some places.

The station by my house still sells the LSD, but they are the most expencive diesel in the area for some stupid reason. I just go down the road where its $1.96 (vs. $2.29 LSD) and I dump in a qt of cheap SAE 30 non detergent oil I get from wal-mart. Its really cheap pure oil so it just gives me piece of mind

I think the law also states that the stickers have to stay on until a certain number of gallons of ULSD go though the tanks.
In most cases it takes over a month.
