"includes all taxes" & "not for highway use"- on the same pump
The other day at a local Hess, I noticed on the K1 pump (2.69 fyi) that there was a sticker that said "includes all taxes" , as well as one that said "not for highway use". I thought that if fuel was taxed, it can be legally run on road? Not for nothing, but if I am gonna pay taxes on something, I am darn sure not gonna let someone tell me what I can/ cannot burn in my truck. Any thoughts?
Yeah, its not gonna harm anything, although the cetane is lower, which means less power, less mpg. It also has way less lubricity, so make sure to use lots of lube, either wmo, stanadyne or the equivalent. K1 is what fuel suppliers use in the winter to mix with our #2 oil to keep it from gelling. A lot of old timers use it regulary in the cold weather for the same reason.
