havn't used bio yet but
I started right off with b99- 33 gal. worth... I never clogged a filter, but changed one out in about 15k because I was scared. It was dirty looking, but was still running good. I'm scared to run it right now in MT tho. little chilly
I was at the bio pump in the city today. here is the info on cold weather that was posted on the pump. I think these are very conservative suggestions, designed to keep anyone from ever having a problem.
if the low temp is supposed to be no lower than 45 F, then use 20% petro
if the low temp is supposed to be no lower than 32 F, then use 50% petro
if the low temp is supposed to be no lower than 20 F, then use 80% petro
I paid $3.69/gallon, petro today in the city was $3.35/gallon. If you save your receipts, you can get a $0.50/gallon rebate from the state of Oregon. Too bad I live on the other side of the river!

I've been reading this documents found on Biodiesel.org

It is very interesting and bio is getting my attention now, I have a pump with B99 nearby and will go today to try a blend.

I have an '01 and am thinking about running BD in it, as I have a source from a friend who's quite into it. My question is about compatibility of the BD with fuel system parts. I have the Vulcan filter relo kit installed, along with an Airtex pump from Autozone. Is that hose from the Vulcan kit compatible? What about other parts?
My plan is to only run it during warm weather, as I don't drive the truck much during cold weather anyway.

for temperature concerns, I took a sample of the commercial bio I get in Portland from Sequential and popped it in the coldest part of the fridge. I looked at it today, and the thermometer next to it said 34 deg F, and there was no clouding at all.
Another update on the B99 clouding. After a few days at 34 F with no cloudiness, I popped it in the freezer. After a couple of days in there, I checked on it and it was gelled totally solid at 22 F. It's been back at 34 for a day and it is starting to turn liquid again, but is still mostly solid.
my b20 clogged up the filter in no time up here. A lot of the gel point has to do with the type of oil that was used to make the biodiesel. Soy is the most common and is notorious for being bad in the cold.
