Futures Prices, Gas, Fuel Oil
My theorey has been that if you watch Gas and fuel oil(relative of diesel) futures, you can see where prices are going. Just add .50 or $.60(tax & profit) to those prices and you are normally close to the pump price. For the last year or 3, Fuel Oil has traded $.20 or $.30 higher than gasoline, similar to what we see at the pump. I was shocked on Fiday to see Heating Oil selling for $.10-$.15 LESS than gasoline.
If my theorey is correct, we should see Diesel less than gas by $.10 within 30 days, if not sooner.
I think that because of the World Recession, demand for Diesel, jet fuel, Heating oil IS WAY DOWN. Airlines ar even having fare wars.
So, for a while, we may get back to Diesel being less than regular gas.
Who would have thouht we would EVER see those days again!
Perhaps Jesus drives a CTD.
Diesel here $1.85, gas $1.75.
