Just wondering, will diesel (on or off road fuel) degrade, or other wise change when exposed to sunlight, for long or short periods of time? Pretend that you had a clear fuel container.
No, i am not going to be storing diesel in a clear container.

i know gas does. but gas isn't diesel so.....

 

I'm just wondering. Are you saying gas will degrade/change chemically?
Maybe sun light will help the algea grow. Can I put some grass carp in there to clean that up? LOL

 

Algae will grow if moisture is present (with or without sunlight).
My guess is diesel is UV tolerant for reasonable period of time, but for long term storage like more than a year it could start degrading, like UV does on most hydrocarbon based products that hasn't been treated.
