Clever Fuel Theft

I just saw on the news where some guys took a triple axle box trailer and put a trap door in the floor. They had a big tank inside and would pull over the bulk fuel tank inlets at gas stations, open the trap door and help themselves. I wonder how long it will be before someone hi-jacks a tanker trailer full of diesel?

Hijacking a tanker is old news.

Some mental midget hijacked a tanker filled with heating oil (dyed) a year ago in Baltimore, drove it to Washington DC, sold it to another ID10t who owned a station in SouthWest DC, and dumped the whole truck load of diesel fuel into the UNLEADED FUEL STORAGE TANK.

Then left the stolen tanker truck a block away from the front gate of a military installation, causing a "possible terrorist truck bomb" investigation that shut down the main gate for 3 hours in the evening rush hour.

There was a book in the late '60s called Steal This Book
First page said if you didn't steal it that you were already on the wrong path.
The book explained in detail how to pull up over the station delivery inlet with a pump and a van with a hole in the floor loaded with drums.
I thought most inlets now had locks.

Gotta appreciate people who think outside of the box. Improvise, adapt, overcome.
