Biodiesel Prices

I am reading about more and more biodiesel available, but have never seen it offered. What is the price difference between B20 and reg #2?

Thanks

From what I've heard/read. Bio-diesel seems to be more expensive, anywhere from $.10-$1.00 more a gallon.

Here in Montana the last time #2 went over $2.50 B20 was $2.45.
#2 hasn't gone back up over $2.50 here yet, but as it does I would expect the price difference between #2 and BD to increase as the price of BD is somewhat fixed.

Must be "slower" DE, there aren't any bio pumps in Northern Delaware (is there)?

My guess is that eventually diesel will go up until Bio is cheaper. This is because veggie oils are not depleting while fossil oil is. It's the future guys. Get used to it.

I've been doing a lot of research on this and found that on a small scale, 50-100 gal. batches with out reprossesing to recover the largest ongoing cost is methonal and can be made for -after collecting waste vegy oil -is between .40 to .90 cents , my 2nd point is what seems to have been normal buis. in the past is a reasonable markup -maybe 25-45% . So that makes for 1.50, now they call this alternative fuel ,that Orwells newspeak or doubllespeak ,being that vegi oil is what Rodolf Diesel invented his diesel eng. to run on , that makes dyno fuel the alternative, next is most of the bio and alternative world are not alt. becouse that much markup is a major part of whats going wrong in the world for some time, massive markup , at least its not as bad with some of the prices mentioned here , theres a new group starting up in Mlps. and they are calling themselves a Co-op and when I went to a meeting they said that members could buy at a pricebreak of 3.50 gal. to non members 3.75 gal. , one of the other guys at the meeting I had met before at a TDR meet , then I got a phone call the said they were buying at 1.70 gal. this was when dyno fuel was maybe 1.98 gal. well its time to get off this rant.

I just paid $2.90/gal for B99 yesterday on the eastern shore of MD. I'm told that its really B100 but labeled as B99 for tax reasons. D2 is going for $2.50+/gal.

There is another place in western MD that sells B100 for $3.62/gal.

there is also a federal tax break for biodiesel! which should make it cheaper, but just lines someone's pockets more!

First of all guys, make sure you're all talking about the same thing. B20 is not the same as b100. Most of the time b20 is priced very similarly to #2 diesel, to answer the original poster's question. I filled up on b20 downtown Cleveland last week for $2.49. B100 is expensive - one place I called the other day wanted $3.98/gal after road taxes, anothe $3.55! Apparently though, there is a $1 'blenders credit' per gallon if you blend dino diesel with the bio. You have to be a licensed or certified blender, but I guess that's how they're getting away with cheap prices on 'b99' or lower blends..
