Stay away from cheap Mopar fuel filters

I'm making this post to try to raise awareness for these fake and inauthentic Mopar fuel filters that I've seen being sold on the internet. Websites like oemfilterhub.com , torqueproparts.com and others as well as filters being sold on eBay or through Walmart's online store are selling cheaper, fake fuel filters that will damage your engine. I first saw these online and I had a feeling they were a scam since they were so cheap so I bought a set and compared it to authentic Mopar filters. From comparing the two, you can see the differences that the cheap ones are made poorly and are not trustworthy. I just wanted to put this out there so no one ends up making this costly mistake. Websites like dieselfiltersonline.com and genosgarage.com sell authentic filters and you should never trust these scam websites. Dieselfiltersonline also has a good counterfeit awareness page which I will link here https://www.dieselfiltersonline.com/...erfeit-filters . I've seen many stories of these fake filters damaging peoples engines and I wanted to try to increase awareness about this because it is becoming more apparent.

They are probably made by Fram. Fram has always been the crappy filter guaranteed to lower pressure. Cut one apart and compare to Wix and you will find Wix has about 5 times the filter media or more. If you have a mechanical oil pressure gauge on an engine, put a fram on and measure oil pressure. Then screw a Wix or other quality filter on and note oil pressure. You will se a noticeable difference.

However while we are talking fuel filters, do not buy a Wix fuel filter for a P pumped Cummins! They will not hold up to the pressure pulses of the lift pump. They will get a pin hole at the top just outside the rubber gasket where the metal is thin from the stamping process. It will skeet fuel in your engine compartment and could cause fire. I usually run Bosch fuel filters on a P pump. They are good and inexpensive.
