I am planning on swapping in cummins power to a 29,000 mile 1986 Chevy K30 crewcab. It will be the tow rig for the first gen puller. It has 4.10 gears and I plan on leaving them since all it will be doing is pulling a loaded gooseneck trailer. I need to figure out the ins and outs of what works and what don't before I go buying a bunch of parts I can't use. I was hoping some who had done the swap could chime in with dos and don'ts. '01 24v 235HP motor with some scores in #6. It has 4x4 motor mounts, also have a set of 1st gen 12V mounts. I have a set of 90 HP injectors that could be reworked. I was wanting twin turbos anyway.

mystery meat 96 5 speed p-pump that could use a trip to the pump shop to be safe.

parts of a 2wd NV4500 cummins trans I could piece back together or buy another core and make a 4x4 trans.

29 spline NP205 that will be retiring from the puller, its a shift on the fly model.

diesel instrument cluster with full gauges and wiring from an 82 6.2 diesel parts truck. I took the air conditioning too as the air force didnt spec the truck with it. I have a full set of 82 M/T pedals and a M/T tilt column from another truck.
