Hmmmm, now sounding like not a good idea. I'd hate to sacrifice $1200 bucks for the clutch to the diesel gods just to have a little fun. Also concerned about not having ladder bars. Maybe I should watch one first. Thanks for the info.

Tiger Rag,

Aren't you in or around Winston-Salem?

EastBend is just north west of winston salem and you could check one of their pulls out and then decide. Its very laid back sledpulling. They let some guy in a lifted F150 on 35" All terrains pull the sled with a stock manual tranny the other night.

Yep, that's what I was planning on after thinking about it for a while. I know there are a few local pulls from talking with Robert Miller who pulls in the DHRA. East Bend, Statesville, and Albemarle are the ones I know of.

I was just thinking that I could hit the Newland pull on the way home from the OBX, but when I heard the rules on that one, I figured I was out, just didn't mention it. We'll have to get together and hit one of those. Mike D wants to do it too I believe. I also owe you my mini DV tape from Mopars at the Rock so you can edit it in.

No, I'm not going to pull, even with my all stock truck. I have the crappy 47re tranny in it, and trust me, if something breaks, I cant afford to fix anything. One of these days when I get the money to get the tranny rebuilt I'll pull in a heartbeat.

And they did not have a nationals pull on Saturday night last year, it was rained out. They did have it on Friday night, however, and the only stock guy that pulled was a duramax that did pretty darn good, in the high 200s range. I dont know about the rules, since the stock pulls is after the nationals pull, I thought Newland was the judges on stock trucks.

Tiger,

I'll let you know next time I find a sled pull that I'm able to attend. Do the same if you go to one.

I also might make a trip out to newland on a mini vacation to watch out there sometime. I like getting away from work.

I'll be there both nights, but am planning on driving Friday night. Gonna drink some adult beverages Saturday night, so no drinking for me .

I plan on being there. Just to see what it's all about. I've never been but the vids I've seen look like a lot of fun! What are the times for the show. I have about a 2 hr drive to get there.
