Hi all,

Before I broke the spider gears again, my truck had gone a best of 15.05 at 93 mph with 4.10's. After putting in a detroit locker and regearing to 3.54's, it went 14.73 at 95 mph last night with no other changes. I thought that was interesting, considering the weight of these trucks. Proof yet again that turbo motors often like less gear to give them something to spool up against. It's sure nicer on the interstate, too!

 

Yeah, I picked up only 2 tenths switching from 3.54s to 4.10s and I was running a 40" tire at the time.

Blue, I know, just thought I would show how little gears actually do for our trucks in the quarter mile .

 

I bet the locker helped with your 60 foot times more then the gears did. Shaving a tenth in your 60 is good for a couple in the 1/4. Just somthing to thing about.

 

Actually, 60 ft times remained the same, within a hundredth of a second anyway. I had a good functioning limited slip unit before the locker.
