Sled Pulling, How Much Weight in the Front?
Sled Pulling, How Much Weight in the Front?
I realize there are several variables to be considered, such as class, if that pull allows front weights, how many you can have and still make weight for a given class, etc.
My question though, is how much weight would you run if you could? Yeah, I know, you'd hang a locomotive from the front if you could,
Perhaps this might be clearer in asking, if you have bought weights for the front of your truck, how much weight did you buy?
I'm trying to decide how much weight I should buy when I build my weight rack.
Thanks,
Chris

Truck is not, and will not be stripped at all, unless I misunderstand your meaning. This is my street truck, licensed and driven daily, and drag raced regularly. I'm gonna get the receiver in front and have a weight rack built by Enterprise Engine, as someone suggested here.
Thanks,
Chris

my unstripped 99 3500 weighs 7600, 4 100lb puts it right there, you should need a few more for the short bed 2500.
and if your asking were to hang the weight, put as much as you can on the front drivers side, the sled is always ampel weight for the rear!

There's a pull at Disputanta on the 7th? Where can I get more info?
I doubt I'll pull since my ladder bars STILL haven't shown up. I am being told that they are having a problem with defective brackets and hope to get them sent out to me on Oct. 6th. I might have them by the 12th.
I might still show up and talk trash though.

virginia truck pullers association has a schedule of the events and links to there web sites/ me and another buddy were wondering if some diesels were going to show up we were planning on it becouse it is a little closer than newlands pull
CLICK HERE for Green's website, but there's not much info there as far as rules and stuff. You might try calling Bruce Green at 804-991-2482. The last time I talked to him, he was really interested in getting more diesel trucks to compete.
Let me know if you're going Chris and I'll go down there too. I'm working graveyards, but that's no problem since it's just across the street from me.

Sure Dennis, I'll show up. What time would be good? The gates seem to open at 8:30, and I'm liable to still be sawing logs at that time. What time do they start pulling?
I will not be pulling because my ladder bars STILL have not gotten here (see previous posts).
You might crank out an email to the other chapter 7 members now, so they can figure out if they're coming.
