Forgive my ignorance here, but could somebody fill in some blanks for me on these two type of pulls. I am (at present) not a member of any sanctioned pulling association. If I go to a sanctioned event and wish to pull, do I need to join in order to do so? Can I pull without being a member and if I do so will I be eligible for any prize money (like I'd win... ).

I was hoping that someone here might be a member of the MSTPA. There isn't any mention in the rule book about a diesel truck class, yet this weekend at Lincoln, MO they have a diesel class pull. Just wondering if this is an exception class that anybody can pull in or if I need to be a member.

Most pulling associations will let you pull one time without being a member.
Or sometimes let you pull with the provision that you cannot take home any money if you win and you are not a member if you wish to pull more than once.

 

Most of the local orgs, such as MSTPA or NWMTP, don't have a sanctioned diesel truck class and they don't always pull a diesel class. At the pulls where they do pull diesel trucks, you just pay the entry fee... no membership necessary.
