Pulling tonight

Well this morning i found out there were some local truck pulls at the county fair, so i think i am going to give it a go. I would like some advice from you guys as to how i should run. Should i run in 4LO with it locked in second gear? or should i put in in 4LO and leave it in drive with overdrive off? How should i launch? Build boost at the start? or just take off slowly and then roll into the go pedal? Thanks for any advice, i am a little bit nervous, and hopefully i wont break anything, Thanks

I 2nd that. 4 low, overdrive off, in drive, and let it shift. I would power brake just a little to get a little boost on the line, and then once it starts building a little, and the chain is tight, and everything, drop the breaks, and lay the heammer down, and dont let out till you stop moving
