puliing truck set ups??

Ok i have been building my truck for a while now and am getting ready to put the motor in it. My question is what can i do to the drive train to make it hold up? I have a dana 80 in the rear, its a standard cab long bed so the drive shaft is one peice. But i dont think it will hold very long, so what can i do to make it better? Also the truck has a 6 inch lift on it, is that going to be a big no no or is it going to be acceptable? I am buildiong it to do fairs and stuff like that but would like to get competative in the sanctioned stuff also. What do you guys recomend me to do from here? Thanks.

locker in the rear, good clutch, all new strong u-joints, billet input, intermediate, and output shafts, short throw shifter, the lift wont hurt it unless your running big tires, chromoly rear shafts, should be able to get them cheap from 4 wheel parts or somewhere, "pulling truck" websites sell them for way to much. driveshaft loops and u-joint shields front and rear.

Depending on how much power youre gonna be making, the stock drivetrain will handle it okay, but it just varies from truck to truck. Ive seen some people running a decent amout of power, pull numerous times and not have a lick of trouble. If your truck is an auto, then billet shafts and at least a reinforced flex plate are a must have item. So far my stock axles have held up, but ive twisted 1 driveshaft up like a pretzel. Im still running a stock one but i have a new one being made. Thicker walled tubing and 1480 series yokes. Here is a pic of my driveshaft It sucks that it broke but im actually kind of proud of it

Get the SCS mini spool kit that EE or Haisley sells and their 37 spline axles....that should take care of your axle issues.
Some people have good luck with the stock Dana 80 but all good things come to an end eventually.

You can keep the lift but if it was me I would take it off.
