it looks like you wanted it to hold up, being welded and bolted together. I think it looks simple and clean, not big & goofy

Keeping it simple and not having it weigh 150lbs is what I was after. If any one wants to know I'll tell them how to build it. Thanks for the input.

That looks pretty slick! Good job.

Looks similar to one I'm getting ready to weld up. I am going to angle some 2" tubing up though for some ground clearance and to get the weights out front some. How much ground clearance do you have?

With the John Deere weights there is 9'' of clearance, I left enough extra tubing so that I can mitre them and get a feww more inches if nessecary.

I've got a snow plow mount on the front so have two vertical plates with adjustable bolt holes already there. I'm going to weld a receiver tube to a small flat plate then bolt that to the plow hitch. Like yours it can slide on/off and will hang the weight from a length of 4" X 4" angle. Hopefully won't weight too much when done. If it does I won't need to put too many weights on anyway

With a plow mount I think the hard work is already done for ya, sounds like you found a good way to utilize it .

that looks good, one thing that i would do is make some j-hooks or something to hold them down on the bracket incase you start bouncing. just so you dont get disqualified.

I strap them down with a tiedown. I've seen losing a weight or 2 ruin a good pull before. thanks for the advice.
