New to Pulling

I don't expect a complete "how to" on pulling but this weekend will be my first pull. If you guys have any advise for me on some main things to remember I would greatly appreciate it.

traction bars would beneficial, keep you from twisting your springs loose. i'd try a 3rd gear in low range for your first pull with your tire set up. rev it up to about 2 grand then start easing off the clutch. when you feel the tires start to grab, give it some more fuel, let the clutch go and keep the wheel straight. you should be off of the clutch and at full speed by the 100' mark. the only other thing i can say is don't try to shift while you are pulling and watch your pyro, it is there for a reason...

Slipping the clutch to 100ft is a good way to burn up a clutch....even if it is an SBC . Wind it up to redline, that charger will light very quickly. You should be off the clutch by the time to count to three. Have fun with it,

No that is somewhat correct but not all the way. With the setup you have and with that big charger and dual disc clutch you need to be in either 4th low or 2nd high depending on how heavy the sled is seeing that this is your first time I would go for 4th. You should be pretty close to 600hp so you won't have a problem but like they said rev it up but you might have to rev it up a bit more to get that turbo to light. But be off the clutch before the 75foot mark so if your not you can try again and drop a gear but I seriously think with your setup and 4th low you'll be down at the end of the track around here you would probably make a full pull with these light sleds. Your truck is similar setup to mine. I have a 05 that the motor blew and I had it rebuilt with arb studs, pro street 66 14 charger, don m flux 2 injectors, edge juice with the bully dog, air dog 150, and a haisly street puller, and cam. So I might have a little more then you when I get it back. now that I think about it your more around 550hp but still 4th low is very duable for you just make sure if you start hopping shut her down.

Wait, the first thing you have to do is turn on you 4-ways then the left blinker then put on a Metallica song. Then you should be at the 13gauge mark.

Just kidding. Good luck. I envy you.

Yeah disregard what everybody said and just give it hell?? when I first started my job as an operator they didn't give me a 800,000 dollar machine and say give it hell. I would rather everybody tell me how they do and by thier responses choose which way to do then somebody just saying give it hell. But maybe you have a little bit more advise then give it hell I know you have pulled a bunch of times even though I have 10 hooks on my truck I by no means consider myself a professional and still can learn from a bunch of you guys.

I go in 4th low with no problum with 37's. Build some boost at the line then floor it as you let the clutch out.
Never hit the brakes when your pulling down the track just let off and let the sled stop you.
If you start bouncing thats when parts break just let off slowly to remain control and get back on it. If you have the power it will pull back up, you will lose some distance but it is better then breaking.

Max pressure in the rear tires and around 20-25 psi in the front.

with his mods I think after he has gotten a little use to pulling he will be fine for 2nd high but 3rd high no way I haven't even heard of anybody trying that gear but I am sure there is somebody that can. But for your first time I am gonna have to agree with 4th low.
