Just have to see they cant pull in too tall of a gear so ground speed wont be much off of anyone else due to RPM limit on the 3rd gen.

I'm thinking you're thinking pre-smarty. Mine's pulling quite a ways past the old 3200 RPM limit after the smarty

Yes i have a smarty as well and it still is limited on RPM... Maybe Marco will figure out how to unlock it... Until them i wouldnt hold my breath on the 3rd gen's being on top...Dont get me wrong they run good but i know for a fact that i 3rd get is not going to be running with a 5500 to 6500 RPM 12 Valve...

I dont exactly follow that statement?

Are you saying you have to pull in 2hi since you are limited on the rpm?

I think you all need to come to some MID MO Pulls where all the Top Missouri boys pull... Being Jeff Jansen, Jeff Strothkamp, Brad Hodler, Kevin Cole,The Imhoff Brothers and a few more
HOOKED, can you run with those guys you mentioned?

Yes thats what i am saying plus i worded it worded it wrong!! Im not the greatest typer ! IM simpily saying that that if the 3rd gen could pump out more rpm this would get you a higher ground speed making them more competitive...

More competitive hell....They would be on top then!! (dont get me wrong I want more rpm's!!)

They are already competitive....Brad and Kevin only got me by 2' at Scheids and thats with my truck hanging less weight and not even having a locker up front (but they still got me no doubt!).
Another 3rd genner on here named Justing Bowling (WFO) was only behind those guys by 1'.

Heck the truck that won on Friday at Scheids was a truck that I have put 5' at another pull about 2 weeks before that pull took place.

3rd gens can do it. It just takes some work. People assume they can't compete just because there are no good ones they have seen pull yet.

He's closer than I am that's for sure. Russellville was impressive, your truck has really come around (not to say it wasn't before, just I can draw a pretty good line on when I noticed some "changes", lol). I wish I had more time to work out this new setup on mine, but we did a little more welding last night and a little more tonight.

Hopefully I can get this poor ol' 12v to roll a little farther and a little faster.
