I know this is a diesel forum
And what I am about to post is not a diesel, but I just had to post it here.
You can find the interesting reading over on the tundrasolutions fourm.
They are claiming that the new 5.7L tundra can maintain 80 mph uphill with 15,000# in tow.
And there is not weight dist hitch, and probably no trailer brakes.
They sure brought a lot of Cummins owners out of the woodwork on this one.
I think I am about this close || to trading my truck in on one now. Because at over 900 rwtq my truck would never do that without droping speed, and down shifting.

Just a quick browse at Toyota's website, shows the max towing lb. capacity of a Tundra to be 10600lbs for a 4x2.
I don't doubt that the Toyota trucks are very capable of pulling. But I don't think 400ft lbs of torque is going to whip up on our Cummins just yet.

mainly b/c of this ethonal fuel. It does not burn apparently to the proper operating temps and messes with the exhaust somehow. Something that needs to be figured out. ALSO. It wight be able to tow that weight uphill....try and stop it on the downhill
