All the DHRA trucks running big fuel and tons of heat are not allowed to run it, so why change that one rule? There are a ton of trucks built to run DHRA rules and therefore are not set up to take advantage of water.

If they don't stop me before drinking it I think it will pass (that and if I'm running to the crapper half way through the pulls). There was about an hr conversation between Corey, Darren and I at Mtn Home 2 weekends ago and we figured that was the easiest way to do it. There was alot of disscussion on the subject and with the water we felt it would be right. The water/meth combo is a major combo for cooling and although some trucks might need the cooling we felt that if someone was runnin to much meth they would just run away from the rest of them. The cooling will help the drivers know the EGTs will stay in check and not have to worry about picking up pieces going down the track. If enough big trucks show up that want to run that combo then Corey said there maybe another class but you'd have to ask him. Either way its going to be a matter of who is there. Corey and them are hoping for a big pull and if that happens and the trucks show up god only knows what the purse may get up to and what classes after that they may have. Matt, might you be amoung the people there?

I have been planning to go, but it depends on where everyone else goes. With the allowance of water in the Street class, they may end up going to one of the other pulls around. If I end up going down to this pull, I will look you up.

Not tryin to be a thorn but i meet all the DHRA rules and if they are going to be changed (allowing water). I may pass on this pull. There are plunty of "BS" associations around here that have changed the rules and ruined the class...I have a pump that will melt the entire motor down but i dont run water... Thats part of pulling... Meet the rules or dont pull... Im sure if i dont go it wouldnt hurt anyones feelings but you guys are asking so i figured i would let you know where i stand...

I called some of the guys up here, and they are going elsewhere this weekend as of now. I don't think any of them are completely against going to Houston, they just prefer to run within the normal rules. If there were not other pulls then they would be at Houston, but the KC pull is paying pretty good and most of them are heading that direction.

Just so you're aware, Lathrop is using NWMTPA rules...

Rule #23 from their Diesel Truck Class:
23. Water injection is allowed. Water ONLY, no alcohols, or other foreign substance additives. A pump lube may be used.

But they havent changed rules... That is the point we are trying to make. Posting rule changes 4 days before the pull isnt a good idea.

I guess I was missing the point, yes, changing rules only leads to confusion and I agree adding a Super Street rule to a Street Diesel rule set the week of the pull is something I wouldn't suggest (nor did I).

The point I thought you were making was that the KC pull was running DHRA rules (no water) and you wanted to go there for that reason. I'm sorry, I see where you are coming from now.

I should have been more informative with my post. Sorry Satburn. The ONLY reason i was willing to drive 3 hours away is because of the rules in place... I can drive to Jeff City and hour and a half away and pull a brush pull which is what this thing will turn into they arent carefull... Heck Satburn we need to spend all winter building a sled and for the paint job the rules will be painted on the side! The only way they will change is if someone runs into it...

Rule #23 from their Diesel Truck Class:
I think it has more to do with distance. Since Houston is not running DHRA rules, they are going to a closer pull.

OK here is the deal. I called up the people that I am bringing. None are using water. Matt said none of his were using water. So there is NO water (I changed the rules in the previous post). All the other rules are straight out of the DHRA hand book. The only things we changed are the weight break (8500 in case a duallie wants to play) and a couple other minor things. The main things changed had to do with bellhousing blankets adn what not. I did change the OEM bed as if someone comes in with a flatbed and it is a work truck then they would be allowed, but everything is just pretty much right out of the DHRA handbook now.
