cummins crate engine!!??!!

cummins crate engine!!??!!

i read somewhere that you could buy a complete cummins engine somewhere that is already built and making around 600hp or so.

has anybody heard of this or know of them? if so prease share your knowledge. im thinking of making a pulling truck and thinking about going this rout.

never heard of that? I guess you can call Scheid or haisley and they will build you an engine and put it in a crate but thats all about I have ever heard. If I were you find a junk yard buy a used motor and send to to an engine builder it would probably be cheaper then a crate engine anyways.

does anybody know an estimated cost to have a blown or used 12v built by an engine builder to make about 600hp or something like that

depends on what you want done really. If you want a complete build up balanced and blueprinted then it's gonna be up there. What kind of rpms do you want to turn and on and on. I'd say you could keep a 600hp truck spinning under 4500rpm for under 10k. I don't know for sure what the cost would be. A used motor would be cheaper then a blown because who knows what it took out when it let go. You need to find a motor and decide what shop you want to go with.
