burnouts

ive got a set of almost bald dualer A/T'son my turck right now, i am going saturday to get new tires, and for a while ive been trying to do a burnout on them but it just wont happen. i dont know if my truck doesnt have the horsepower or what. they can do it in grass or rock but not on pavement. i run them through water like they say to do to break traction but it just wont happen. i bring the truck up to rpm's while holding the brake but the tires just wont spin and if i let off the brake a hair i just shoot off. so is it just me not finding the sweet spot on the break or am i missing something? answers would be greatly appreicated since im geting new tires in 4 days and i wanna have some fun

Couple questions, is your truck a manual or an auto?

If its a stock automatic be careful, you don't want something to give .

If your power is stock you may find that doing a burnout is a little hard, I doubt that either of my trucks that are stock power wise could do one, unless I had some way of getting the tires spinning really easily first.

The stock automatic really doesn't like to put the power to the ground until the high rpms either.

Just remember, is it really worth an expensive fix for a few seconds of tire smoke?

when my truck was stock, I could still roast em, maybe mines an oddball, but I think it's just getting it right. Mine would always break loose around 2200 RPM or so. on 265 75R16's
