Brush Pull in Neilsville, WI video, more carnage

Went to a brush pull/fair pull Friday night... Results didn't turn out too well.
Looks like I'm finding most of the weak points, though :o [yuk]

Is my detroit unusable?

Do you think I could clean up the edges of that detroit and put a new bearing on it or is it totally shot?

At this rate I'll never make it to Scheids.. at least in the truck!

[laugh] [laugh] [laugh] Not really funny, but at least you're optimistic. :)

Wow that launch was a little rough. :o

**** boy you could tear up a anvil with a feather. you need more springs in the rear or you have to start off a lot easier. and see if you can block the suspension.

SmokinDodge12V 08-14-2006 12:14 PM

A blocked rear is the only way you will get away with a launch like that.

Yep, gotta get that fixed. I am running Timbrens right now and they must cause some of the hop.

Redline Ram 08-14-2006 01:57 PM

I hope you get it back together before Scheids, are you gona replace those axles with hardened axles.

Bobcat698 08-14-2006 06:46 PM

I took the ring gear out and cut the axles off and bolted them back in.. Got it up and running in front wheel drive.. Truck does some MEAN front wheel drive burnouts at 30PSI of boost [coffee] J/K :)

Nice...Redneck engineering at it's finest. Do what you have to do to keep 'em moving!!!

So what are you going to replace them with?
Chris

looks like it time to get ahold of haisley for some new axles. that bearing looks like it was never properly packed with grease. that was a rough launch.

Somewhere deep down inside I don't doubt that you were in Plover doin front wheel burnouts.

Hope you get her back together. Come out of the hole sssssssssslllllllllllllllllloooooooooooooooowwwwww wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.

I gotta agree w/ halerazor about that bearing too. I would ask somebody about that maybe.

Look everybody its Captain Obvious himself! Travis is the guy yelling "You Broke Garrett, you broke [coffee] " in the video.
[laugh]

Yes, I think I'll come out of the hole SLOW when not hanging weights.

gunracer1 08-15-2006 07:48 AM

since the bearings live in a oil bath, i figure there is no reason for them to have grease on them. and i would try to salvage the detroit, just debur it on the out side and take it apart to double check the inside.
