Absolutely incredible... When will it end?...

 

something is wrong tho, it put out a big puff of smoke at the end of the track (could be normal) but a 104 trap speed is way low for 11.80. i bet if they work out the bug that made it die on the big end that truck will run alot better.

either way, congrats...that bad boy is moving!

 

I'm sure chris will get it all straightened out. I know when my truck hits OD it lets out a nice cloud and then clears back up. Probably just from the sudden drop in RPM's.

 

My oil pump failed on the last past I made and I lost a piston,which is why you see the smoke and low mph,I was as idle when I crossed the finish line.The pass I made before was a 12.20@116 mph,I had a bad launch and spun pretty bad.I wish I could of ran the 116mph on the 11.80 pass,I probably would have ran a 10th or 2 faster.

 

Ouch! Nice to meet and talk to you at TS, RC. Sorry to hear that it's more than just a headgasket. Thanks for all the insight on the pump and CP3s!

Darn, thats terrible and a first I have heard of an oil pump failure. What a drag and ( no pun ) intended.

Keep us updated on the repairs.

I know anything mechanical can fail, but what could cause failure in an oil pump? Excessive rpm or pressure?

 

lance from pirate4x4 lost the oil pump on his ram also. I wonder if it could be something?

good luck getting her fixed up RC...im sure it will come back out bigger and faster this time, new pistons, hopefully an upgrade here...an upgrade there it will be a beast when we see the next video!

Someone needs to tell Mr. Strickland that the 12.8 second truck he keeps comparing RC's truck to has a stock CP3, stock cam, and is rowing a friggin' manual tranny.

 

Banshee,I wouldnt take offence to Relentless's forum,I do not think the commit was a shot at you.No shots can be taken at you,you are without a doubt the best 6 speed driver any of us have ever seen.Your driving and your truck are awesome.We were hoping the floor it diesel trucks were going to be there so we could compare power output.I guess we will try again next time.
