Good point Jessie! I spoke briefly with Jess Spruill (bones) this week and he said that so far, he and Buck are very happy with that 47RE in that Chevy Duramax! He was talking about how some in the industry say that the Dodge 47RE is a "dumb transmission", meaning that they pretty much "do what they are told" and are WITHOUT all the electronic control of those Allisons. Well, in the case of their Pro-Street Duramax, that "dumb" 47RE cut almost 2/10ths of their 1/4 mile times!

my dumb 48re is the best part of my truck. it holds when everyone else allions on the dyno at scheid went into limp mode. I was just standing there grinning when those guys break 300 and their trucks would go in limp mode. I loved every second of it. I just get tired of all the allison talk that ppl act like they are the best tranny ever to be in a truck. I dont feel that way. mine holds power very well and has less gears to break.

Just becuase it doesnt have a limp mode, doesnt mean its not slipping. As far as a allison limping with 300 rwhp, i dont think so.
