NorCal Chapter 21

So, I just found out by searching on another site that there is an impromptu GTG going on at Sacramento Raceway on November 17. Its gonna be an all pickup(with a few Corvettes sprinkled in there) event being put on by some of the guys at gmfullsize.com. Runamuk asked me to put up this thread so we can see if there will be any diesels showing up to have fun with these guys. So, who is willing to go?

EDIT: Here's the thread I'm talking about. http://www.gmfullsize.com/forum/showthread.php?t=96099

The event is at Sac Raceway on November 17th which is a Saturday. The people that are organizing the event want people to start showing up at around 9am.

The 17th is a Test and Tune, $50 car and driver. I might not have anything better to do.

I'd like to give it a try, but haven't had a chance to build my driveshaft loops.

Drag racing requires no driveline loops

I'll put this on my calendar and should be able to make it.

Doesn't that depend on how fast he's going?

I know of no such requirement for drag racing these trucks. Driveline loops are usually required for high torque applications such as pulling.

I know they require a cage and several other upgrades if you are lucky enough to be running sub 11 seconds.

If he is running sub 11 seconds they'll just not let him run again if he's not properly equipped. Just don't do it on your warm up run(s) wait until you need to.

I checked the basic rules, loops are required if running slicks but not if running (DOT) street tires.

Thank you. I was told that they were required. I'm definitely not going to be needing a cage. If I can get lockup to work i plan on going.

So, Runamuk and I went to this event today. No diesels showed up to race, which was a shame. It still was pretty entertaining watching the other vehicles there make runs down the track, especially that Pro Mod '68 Camaro.

I don't know the name of the guy who owns it, but it had "Wild and Crazy" painted on the doors. Apparently, its a regular at the track.
