Big Rigs Talk about other Cummins powered vehicles here. As a matter of fact, it doesn't even have to be Cummins, but it will be diesel! :)

depends on where the crack is, close to the bolts= get a good used one. side or bottom, take it to a GOOD aluminum welder. at least you don't have that Detroit plastic pan, one good hit and 10 gallons of oil on the ground

You should change all the isolators on the oil pan bolts when the pan is down. What is the max rpm on your motor? was it cranked up? I know Cats are real sensitive to higher rpm without changing the balancer.

99% of the time that I change a series60 oil pan is because some retard has put a tiger torch on it to try and start it in the winter.

Thats a good names in the industry so I am hesitant to ask, Was the engine ever rated to 1750 rmp max? Has the balancer been changed at all?

I would really like to believe when Finning inframed it he changed out the balancer.

keep us posted.

I do not know if it was ever set to turn that slow.. it was 11 yrs old with 1,079,000 on it when i got it, however it was a fleet spec truck out of ontario in its early life.. I will recheck my invoice and see if a balancer shows up on there, but i cant remember one its been a while since i looked haha
