Big Rigs Talk about other Cummins powered vehicles here. As a matter of fact, it doesn't even have to be Cummins, but it will be diesel! :)

7 grand is high? I know guys up north that are doing retrofits of pre-dpf c12 exhaust, ecm, turbo, etc onto dpf C15's for close to 12 grand a pop. And they are happy as hell just to not have them come back on a hook every month or so.

I'm assuming thats in reference to the ticket from the wonderful people at the EPA for those of us who decide to remove their delightfully screwy setups not the 7000 price tag, that part is cheap to avoid the headaches with the new stuff

When your not on the hook your in the shop. Sick of them. Just re-wind my clock back to the 80's and give me a 3406 B model in a 359 Pete and let the twin streamers of smoke roll. The old trucks would pull and they were reliable. I normally say the best things about the good ole days are they got up and left--this case I miss the good ole trucks!!! But we are stuck with the EPA crap that is dished out by the barrel full. Oh well not much longer and I can give it up.

That is why I'm really glad I have my 3406E, still simple in the grand scheme of things, not as easy to fix as my old B block was but still a lot better engine than what they are forced to build now that's for sure!
