Big Rigs Talk about other Cummins powered vehicles here. As a matter of fact, it doesn't even have to be Cummins, but it will be diesel! :)

2008 Sterling Acterra TwinCab

A 2008 Sterling Acterra TwinCab kind of just fell in my lap... It has 24k miles, the 8.3l Cummins and the 6 speed Allison.

Specs:

In-service date: 5 Jan 10

Rear end ratio: 4.63

Ft Axle: 8k

Rr Axle: 17.5k

Trans: Allison 3200 TRV

My impression is that this was set up more of a work truck on the interior with rubber floors, the primary exception is that the seats are air-ride leather/pleather, I'm not sure which. The truck has power windows, doors, locks, mirrors w/heat, DVD, NAV and BU cams and a CB.

I guess the guy didn't like the original white paint so he had it painted grey and they didn't do that great of a job...

The steel flatbed was set up to run a gooseneck but I modded the bed to install a proper 5th wheel hitch. I am going to have the headache rack modded and the sides/back skirted so that it looks more like a hauler bed.

The tires are decent, but the steers are a little worn on the outside edge, not horrible but slightly more than the rest.

This is replacing my Dodge MegaCab, and will be used to pull my 5th Wheel Toy Hauler.

Nice rig and power combo. The Allison 3200 is way overkill for that size truck. Should pretty much flatten every hill you come to.

Best of luck with it.
