I went to go look at 3.27 acres last night way the heck out, still East of South Cooking Lake. 0.3 of the acres was actually usable as the other side was blocked of access by a natural creek and in a low lying area so no chance of any basement.
I hope you find what you are looking for bud. An acerage is heaven!!!

There are commuter buses check into it they work well bit shabby at times but same here we live in Didsbury the bus drops off right down town Calgary
Olds doesn't have one Dids and into Airdrie has them really opens up were you can buy same as the south more pricey but the buses are there

Oh yes.......pretty much grew up on the farm. This is why I cannot fathom some of the stuff we've found / been seeing. Let's see:

- $159K yesterday for 3.10 acres of swamp land. Oh yes, complete with swamp spruce and spongy ground
- $100K yesterday for a lot 70' wide by 200' long (1/3 acre)(I could see my neighbor, therefore he would get punched)
- $375K for 7.5 acres
- $139K for 3.27 acres where 0.3 acres was actually usable
- $249K for 0.5 acres
- $180K for0.4 acres

***.........at least kiss me first........and put on some lipstick.

That is just retarded pricing. The 1/3 for 100k is the only one that isn't stupidly crazy, but still way out there. I dare you to go NW and see what even 200k gets you, you'll be sick at how much cheaper they are. We payed 170k for 1.01 acre. There is probably 200+ lots for sale within 5km radius, so it's not exactly a sellers market. If you can't find anything, are you just going to consider somewhere further? I mean spending an extra 50 to 100k for just a lot is a lot to save a bit of a drive.

Just listed and a few minutes from me in Sundre are 3 quarter sections. All have oil revenue, water and services to the property line, $339,000 each. There is nothing for buildings but 154 acres you can build anywhere you want and lease out the majority to a local hay producer and make some money.

76 acres with a mobile home for $439,000. Live in the mobile while you build.

It's an hours commute and at times it sucks big time but I don't regret buying out here. Pull in the driveway and turn your brain off because your home, no neighbors, no traffic, no sirens, no nothing just beer and peace and quiet.

There isn't a whole lot of wind, lot's less than say Cochrane. We usually have a slight breeze all the time but it's never a big deal. Sure the odd wind storm blows thru here takes a tree or 3 down but it not really an issue.

I hate wind. That is the one big thing that I dont miss about GP. Ft Mac may be stupid expensive, but it is one of the nicest places I have ever lived for weather (summer that is)

That was probably just the operators. I've heard the stories . . .

Go to the Crowsnest, where the trees grow sideways.
