UFA oil
Theoretically, you should be able to run it year round. Its a fully synthetic base stock, so the high temps in the summer should not be a problem. I tend to shift back to the 15-W40 in summer, old school I guess..
I run the cheapest name brand oil in all my vehicles but change it often.
I too run Esso synthetic 0W-40 in the winter. But in the summer I run Esso non-synthetic 15W-40.
I find non-synthetic 15W-40 too thick for the winter. I have run non-synthetic 10W-30 in the winter and it works fine
but I think it's too thin for the summer, so at times I have to change it before it's time. 10W-30 diesel engine oil is also hard to find.
With synthetic 0W-40 I can run that in the spring until it's done with no worries.
I hate Wal-mart but that's where I find this Esso oil and it's cheapest I can find.
Just my thoughts...Joe

I run 5W40 year-round in my truck. Used to be PetroCan Duron until they PO'd me by shutting down the PetroPass in my local area. Now Chevron Delo from UFA-I have tried Mobil Delvac but it's harder for me to get and quite a bit more expensive. Last 15W40 I ran was right after I did the head gasket on my truck as a quick flush to sweep out anything that might have found its way down the crankcase.
Lots of guys run 15W40 year round and get away with it-I just don't like cold starts in the winter with it. Oil is cheap compared to an engine....

Like I said Jase, I know I could get away with going back to 15W40 in the summer-my brother runs it exclusively in his '98 doing the same job as me, pretty close to the same kilometres as mine, probably will live as long as mine. I just like the peace of mind of the lighter viscosities for cold starts. I actually had to start mine a few years ago around -35 or so after finding out the block heater plug breaker had tripped. What a horrible sound....but it started. Dunno if it would have with 15W40-in the long run that might have been a good thing
but when you gotta go, you gotta go....
You pays your money, you takes your chances....!
